Lisa began her career in the business field as an accounting specialist. In her position, she was responsible for handling accounts receivable/accounts payable and financial statements/month end reporting. Lisa transitioned to the construction field in 1996. As vice president of a construction firm, she was responsible for accounts receivable/accounts payable, human resources and payroll, office management, and financial analysis. Lisa became president of Project One in 2009. She is an integral component to the financial strength of the company.
As President, Lisa directly handles all day-to-day operations and management of the company. She helps maintain the company’s financial strength by preparing financial goals, strategies, and budgets. Other roles within the company include office manager, handling accounts receivable/accounts payable, and developing and implementing company policies. Lisa oversees all personnel, policies and procedures, and financial decisions of the company. Lisa earned an associate degree in accounting and business management from St. Cloud Business College in 1990.
Jim has more than 30 years of experience in the construction field. His construction experience began in 1988 working as a project superintendent. Responsibilities included supervising projects, project scheduling, and managing staff in the field. In 1994, Jim became vice president of a contracting firm. As vice president, Jim took on the roles of lead estimator, lead project manager, project supervisor, human resource manager, and office manager. Applying his wealth of construction knowledge and experience, Jim became vice president of Project One Construction in 2009.
As Vice-President, Jim is directly responsible for the daily management and operation of the company. Jim’s, extensive construction experience allows him to provide the vision and leadership necessary for continued growth and success of Project One. Jim holds the MN Department of Labor & Industry (DLI) Contractor License.
Derek’s construction experience began as a carpenter here at Project One. After graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree, he became a Project Superintendent. In this role, he worked on and completed several new multi-family construction projects, including apartments and townhomes and several commercial additions and renovations. Derek’s field experiences as well as his education allows him to successfully estimate, budget and manage all of his projects.
Nick started with Project One Construction in 2010. He started as a carpenter and became a Project Superintendent soon after. In this role he has completed many projects ranging from new multi-family apartments/townhomes, large multi-family rehabs, industrial renovations/additions, and several Military/State and MnDOT projects. Nick’s field experience allows him to successfully manage, estimate, budget and communicate with clients and sub-contractors for all types of projects.
Jennifer started with Project One Construction in August 2022. She brings 30 years of experience in the construction industry with nearly 15 years in residential and commercial building construction. As an Assistant Project Manager, Jennifer is responsible for working closely with our Project Managers during all phases of construction and working with contractors throughout the projects.
Emma joined Project One Construction in September 2025 and brings 3 years of experience in the construction industry, with a strong focus on project coordination, administrative support, and office management. As an Assistant Project Manager, Emma works closely with our Project Managers throughout all phases of construction, helping keep projects organized, on schedule, and running efficiently. Her responsibilities include coordinating project documentation, assisting with subcontractor and vendor communication, tracking project information, and managing day-to-day administrative tasks that support both the field and office teams. Emma’s attention to detail, strong communication skills, and positive attitude make her a valuable part of the Project One Construction team.
Amanda has been with Project One Construction since 2012. Amanda’s prior experience was in the banking and accounting industry. As Assistant Project Manager, she is responsible for prevailing wage reporting, employment goals, hiring requirements, contracts, and submittals. Amanda’s organization skills provide support for subcontractor / supplier contract administration and strategic assistance for Project Managers. Amanda also has the role of Human Resources Manager and Safety Coordinator. She is responsible for inspecting project sites for safety compliance and assuring a safe work environment for employees of Project One Construction.
